Elections – Bonds
The District does not currently have a pending bond election.
Elections – Directors
The next election for the District will be held on May 4, 2024.
To be qualified to serve as a director, a person shall be at least 18 years old, a resident citizen of the State of Texas, and either own land subject to taxation in the district or be a qualified voter within the district.
Director candidacy filing requirements and deadlines are as follows:
To run for election to the District’s Board of Directors, a person must file an application for a place on the ballot. The application must be filed with the Secretary of the District’s Board of Directors or his designated agent by mail, fax or in person. An application may be downloaded/printed from the website of the Texas Secretary of State at https://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/forms/pol-sub/2-21f.pdf.

· First day to file for place on May 4, 2024 general election ballot is Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
· Last day to file for place on May 4, 2024 general election ballot is by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024.
· A person may run for election to the District’s Board of Directors as a write-in candidate and to do so must file a declaration of write-in candidacy. The declaration must be filed with the Secretary of the District’s Board of Directors or his/her designated agent by mail, fax, email or in person. A declaration form may be downloaded/printed from the website of the Texas Secretary of State at https://www.sos.texas.gov/elections/forms/pol-sub/2-23f.pdf
· Deadline to file write-in candidacy declaration for May 4, 2024 general election is by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
The location(s) of the election will be posted upon determination.
Announcing New Operator
Effective June 1, 2022 the new Operator for the River Plantation Municipal Utility District will be Municipal Operations and Consulting, Inc. More information about the new Operator can be found by clicking here.
Customers will be receiving a letter in the mail containing additional information about Municipal Operations and Consulting, Inc. and information about water bill payments, reporting water leaks, etc.. Please click here to view a sample of the letter.
Customers can access the payment portal at the link below. Please note, customers will be unable to utilize the portal until they receive their new account information from Municipal Operations and Consulting, Inc.'s office.

USPS announcement regarding 1st class delivery
The USPS announced a change in service on October 1, allowing up 5 days for 1st class delivery. If you are mailing your payment, please plan accordingly to avoid a late fee.
Notice of Bond Election (posted on 10/9/21)Notice is hereby given that a Bond Election will be held for River Plantation Municipal Utility District (“District”), pursuant to an order of the board of directors (“Board of Directors”) of said District passed and adopted on August 10, 2021 (“Order”). The District has entered into an Agreement relating to joint elections to be held November 2, 2021 (“Contract”) with Montgomery County, Texas (“County”) for the purpose of having County’s Election Administrator (“Election Administrator”) provide certain joint election services and equipment needed by District in connection with the election on November 2, 2021. Said Contract is on file at 2727 Allen Parkway, Suite 1100, Houston, Harris County, Texas, where any interested person may refer to it for all purposes.

Notice of Public Hearing on Tax Rate (posted on September 7, 2021)
The River Plantation MUD will hold a public hearing on a proposed tax rate for the tax year 2021 on September 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM at 610 River Plantation Drive, Conroe, TX. Your individual taxes may increase at a greater or lesser rate, or even decrease, depending on the tax rate that is adopted and on the change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in taxable value of all other property. The change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in the taxable value of all other property determines the distribution of the tax burden among all property owners.

The Board generally meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m., at the District Office, 610 River Plantation Drive, Conroe, Texas 77302.
